Emerging India: Social and Political Problems
(A Curtain Raiser)

India, once known as the ‘Land of Plenty’ was full of riches. However, coming of Turks, The Mughals, The Arabs and British for extending their empires have depleted its fragile resources to a great extent and have given various social problems in return.
Even at this juncture after sixty years of independence, we have not transformed and are sinking in the avalanche of social & political problems. On the one hand society is going through the snag of Casteism, Women exploitation, Child labour, Drug addiction and on the contrary political system is also sordid with corruption, caste based politics, criminalization of politics. In recent past there was a lot of chaos and pandemonium about ‘India Shining’ which was just an eyewash. The era of ‘Golden Bird’ has been enshrined somewhere and the picture looks quite nebulous.
Political scenario is awful nowadays and going through a black phase of corruption. Corruption is entrenching in today’s public life. In the past 60 years we have virtually institutionalized corruption as an inseparable part of our life. The phenomenon of corruption is rampant both in government offices and in politics. Many people become MP’s, MLA’s and ministers in order to make fortune and not to serve the people. Politics is most lucrative business these days where money and muscle power are the investments. After coming in power these tyrannous and haughty politicians spread their act of corruption and utilize their powers to their fullest to pursue their goal of making money. The social activities of these politicians are just a camouflage.

Frequent Feud and Riots
Also the criminalization of politics has rendered the politicians corrupt and bureaucracy non-functional. The valiant acts of the freedom fighters have been trampled on, shamelessly and all its kudos goes to the decline in democracy.

Caste Based Politics

It is not the politicians only who should be blamed, we the civilians of India are also not performing and deferring our duties to elect the diligent, benevolent and honest politicians who can work with finesse
and knack. Our election criterion is mostly caste driven in India and not the caliber and honesty. This is a major bottleneck and enigmatic impediment in the political development of country.
Besides political system, in government offices also, the problem of corruption is pervading right from the village officer to the head of the government department at the centre or at state. There is a virtual coalition between various officers of a department in act. In most government offices members of the public cannot expect the official to do his duty unless he gets the extra money – the lubricant that helps the machinery to move and make it work hassle free. Modus operandi of the government departments is like a barter system where you have to pay money for asking an officer to do his job. Corruption has reached to this echelon because some of us bait and abet the officers for petty gains or convenience and rest tolerate it and accept it. These Blacksheeps present in various government departments breach and manipulate the rules according to themselves and embezzle money as much as they can. Honest civil servants fail to survive under such a system and only sycophants are considered fit for promotion. This ignominious and frivolous act of corruption has completely paralyzed the entire system and made it a laggard.
The social picture is no less scary, which is overflowing with women exploitation, dowry, drug addiction, child labour, casteism etc. Violence against women has the tacit approval of the society world over. Crimes against the women stem from the fact that men cannot accept even today that she can earn more money, respect and social eminence than them. The women in India
are still confined & coerced to do household work only and has not yet been delegated their right of equality. Women are still yearning for their right of equality.
The ignominious act of sexual assault on women is perverse and denigrated the social picture of India. This erroneous act abducts the rights of women. Also there are lots of impediments in delivering justice to the victim. She has to give an account of incidence and this is an emotional and psychological pain for her. Then there is a question of evidence. In most verdicts the culpable or miscreant is usually let off for lack of evidence & judicial system fails to give nemesis. The women in such cases receive only empathy from others and fail to get the justice. This act of vandalism has put a black mark on the face of India.

Drug addiction is another colossal problem that has spread its paws in all sections of the society and has devastated the youth and novice. In today’s world, in pursuit of materialistic passions man becomes alienated from the society. Failure and despair in his pursuit often leads to discontentment and he finds himself a misfit in this world. Thus for momentary escape people get indulged in this habit. This problem has spread like an epidemic in youth. If this menace will keep on spreading at its accelerating present pace it is apprehended, anticipated and unfazed that every second youngster will be a drug addict within next few years. Complete abstinence from drugs is utmost necessary for abolishing this disease and for ameliorating the image of young India.

CHILD LABOUR

India is also facing the challenges in the form of child labour and many other social problems. We are conniving at the destruction of the ambience of Indian values and culture by not protesting against it. The social reforms introduced by Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Jyotibha Phule, and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru has opened the eyes of few individuals of the society but still, there is a need to percolate these reforms and to give a cue and impetus to the masses to start a crusade against it so that India can be honoured with the ecstasy of its credentials back.

India has come a long way since 1947 but this growth is not ample to achieve the dream of ‘Golden Bird’. The gist is that we should not allow these social evils to eclipse the pace of development. This is a hefty and formidable task and only a stupendous & fortuitous effort from all of us would enable us to obliterate these evils from the society. So, it’s the need of the hour that we should all stand together and endeavour to envisage against this monster. It’s the time to wake up and we should pledge to emancipate and cease these evils from the society to fulfill our dream of that era of ‘Golden Bird’.

Cre80Vty is an art which comes from with in...

Cre80Vty

Creativity is an art which lies inside the heart. It literally means involving the skillful and imaginative use of something to produce as in work of art. Creativity means different to different people i.e. it varies. To most of the people it is to create something in a different way i.e. something which is unique is creative. It is not imitating something else. It is not an inborn talent. All of us can notice many unique things around us in our day today life for instance Flowers of different shapes, sizes, colors and pattern of their leaves etc. They are naturally creative. Being imaginative or inventive is being creative. Creativity is the extent of an individual’s imagination about something, be it generation of ideas, images or creative solutions to the different kind of problems. Even thoughts can be creative and when we give real form to those thoughts that also reflects our caliber and creativity, For instance in poetry, paintings and reuse of wastage products and lots more. But only thoughts should not be creative, one should have the keen desire to work on them and should come out with flying colors. Brainstorming is one form of creative thinking: it works by merging someone else's ideas with your own to create a new one. You are using the ideas of others as a stimulus for your own. This creative thinking process can be accidental or deliberate.
As emotions do not only rule heart, it rules the head even. Creativity is associated with emotions. 3-H rule can be applied to it i.e. Heart, Head and Hand. If any work involves these three things and used in a unique way, it would be creative. If it involves benevolence and rectitude, earns the appreciation of all. Doing creative things can be one’s hobby but when done regularly becomes talent. Anything which is done or construct through mind and heart with the help of the talent is creativity. It gives you happiness and satisfaction and also motivates and boosts the morale of the person if praised. It’s very necessary to develop new uncommon and unique ideas and implementing them in any profession to survive in the era of cut throat competition. Creativity is a vast concern in the modern era. It is our own. It is not superficial but your inner self. It is also about playing with the words. Use of figurative language in articles, write-ups, essays etc. is also a type of creativeness.
Keep your mind always open, you never know when a creative thought comes knocking. Even modification can be counted in creativity i.e. molding something existing in a different and innovative way and giving it an all together a new shape. Having creative knowledge makes us more confident and we can excel in any field we step in to. Way of thinking and way of expressions are also the part of it.
In the field of info edutainment, creativity or being creative is necessary to communicate the things to the people and to reinforce it in their minds. Everything in this universe is creative. You just need to feel the ecstasy of the surroundings which is due to creativity then everything would be serene and beautiful. Creativity is just like a Lotus, which grows in mud in gloom but when a drop of water is seen on it in the light i.e. when it is exposed, it seems like a pearl.
Creativity is not doing the different things but doing the things differently.

Adverse Effects Of Advertisements

Wednesday,Oct. 3,07- A seminar was organised in Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar by its Communication Management and Technology Deptt. on Adverse effects of advertisements. Dr. Rajeev Dixit who is related to the field of Science and Technology and also associated to " PATANJALI YOG PEETH" was the keynote speaker of the seminar. He presented very shocking facts related to advertisements. He told that till year 1990 thanda matlab used to be a lemon squash, coconut water, juices etc. But in 1990-1991 policies were changed,India became globalised and companies like COCA COLA and PEPSI came in to existence and Thanda matlab became coca cola. He told that coca cola is a drink manufactured by one of the America's private limited company. He told that this drink is a mixture of 14 chemicals in water viz. Phosphoric Acid which is also used in the manufacturing of Harpic(Toilet Cleaner), Sodium Glutamate, Potassium Sorbate, Dicalcium Phosphate etc. which are carcinogenic i.e. cancer causing as confirmed from NCL (National Chemical Laboratory), PUNE.The pH of Coca Cola and Pepsi matches to that of Harpic and Phenyl i.e. 2.4. It is highly acidic, even can dissolve tooth (the hardest part of human body which normally can't be destroyed).

He with some of the other scientists experimented it on different breeds of Monkey(who doesn't suffer from any disease normally due to its Rh factor of blood) in CFTRI(Central Food for Technology and Research in India), Mysore. They took normal monkey and injected a bottle of Pepsi in to its body intravenously. This monkey died with in 24 hrs due to cardiac arrest. They also took Pregnant monkey and did her sonography. Her baby was fine. But after injecting the same both of them died and in addition the baby was found to be paralysed. So these drinks can cause Osteoporosis(shedding of bones), Diverticolitis(Intestinal Cancer), Cardiac arrest(heart attack) and many other hazardous and fatal effects on living beings.
He told that there is a drastic change in Indian economy. Till 1991 there was 0 percent sales of Pepsi and Coke and by the year 2007, sales have increased to 7000 crores. Manufacturing cost of one bottle of Coke is 70 paise. Every year 210 crores are being spent on its advertisement and for its reseach and development not even 2 crores are spent. So total of 1 lakh 5 thousand crores is being earned as a profit by America from our country through these drinks which otherwise could have been used for many other purposes. Aamir khan who is the Brand Ambassador of Coke doesn't consume Coke himself by saying"IT IS NOT DRINKABLE".

Dr. Dixit also took example of FAIR and LOVELY "gorepan ki cream" which unbelievably made up of PORK TALLOW whose cost of production is 90 paise for 100 gram and company sells 1 kg for Rs. 1600 which is too costly. Moreover it can't turn dark skin in to the white one as also tested on Buffalo for 4 yrs.

So these things and their advertisements have negative impact on us as well as our country's economy. "हमें 21 इंच के दाईरे में सिमट के नहीं रहना चाहिऐ ". One should not lose his/her rationality while looking at these advertisements. We should boycott using all imported products and start using our own or swadeshi products like milk instead of soap; milk, squashes and juices instead of these beverages;Amla, shikha as a substitute of shampoos and so on......

By doing all this we can make our Developing country INDIA as a Developed one.
